"Caleb, Caleb Branshaw," he answered Eva with a smile. He had even gotten a welcome from the boy to, which surprised him yet again. It seemed a little harsh, but hey, it was still a welcome. Caleb continued, "I'm new around here. Just decided to have a little stroll around the town." He glanced at both of them. It was a lie, he was really patrolling, but he didn't want to tell them that, the boy especially. That would just anger him to know that he was intentionally hunting down the evil kind which would have probably included the boy if he hadn't seen the boy's calm behavior with Eva.
"So what are you guys doing out here so late?" Caleb asked and continued with a smile. "Aside from ripping necks apart and manipulating fire?" Maybe he could figure out a little more about these beings. He didn't really think he was, but maybe this boy worked for the evil gang Faith was soon to come up against. And if that was so, there would be no question about it, Caleb would have to fight him and kill him.
As he waited for a reply, he thought about what he had told Faith tonight at the Bronze. He was extremely mean, but he felt like he had to be. She wasn't getting it when he was speaking to her nicely. So bringing up her past and her present issues was the only way he could think of to show her that she was better off embracing her slayer responsibilities. He hoped that she took the napkin with his address on it, and he hoped that she would show up at his door soon. The sooner the better. Angelus and his gang could attack at any moment and she had to be ready for that. And as of right now, she wasn't.

The young blonde tried her best to interpret the actions of the two around her. The demon spoke again, in a harsh greeting. It unnerved her, but he seemed to ease up quickly. He introduced himself as Kurt, Kurt Harkness.. The way he spoke about his name, or his alias apparently seemed odd to her. “What she named you?” she repeated. Eva didn’t quite understand who he was talking about. What she was it?
Then the taller figure answered her with a smile. His name was Caleb and his people skills were just a touch better than Kurt’s. Eva smiled back and looked over to Kurt to see how he was receiving this as well. He just seemed as bored and confused as could be. Her attention returned to Caleb when he said he was new to Sunnydale. “Well, I’m sure you won’t love it here. It’s tiny here. There’s only 1 Starbucks in the whole town. Everybody knows everyone. It’s awfully boring in the day and things tend to go bump in the night here…”
[/b] she started off and looked at Kurt. “I mean, no offense or anything…” [/b]She gave Kurt an apologetic look. She wasn’t trying to offend him, but the town basically was messed up by the demons… Eva bit her lip as she searched Caleb for something.. Something about him was…off. He was extremely polite, but he didn’t appear frightened. Eva, even with knowledge of the paranormal would still run in the opposite direction of any kind of demon that crossed her path. Caleb didn’t seem the same way. And as someone new to town, you’d think his demeanor would be anything but calm. Her mind started to drift as he asked her another question.. Eva searched for her words. She was mildly frustrated at having to explain herself , more than once. She wasn’t some child; regardless she wasn’t going to act as if she had something to hide. “I was just paying respect..”[/b] she started, gesturing to the candles she’d left, still lit. Eva sighed. The little lighter explosion made her frown and she immediately began to apologize to Kurt. She looked to Caleb, almost for a sign of approval. “That doesn’t usually happen I swear! I don’t even know where it came from. Honest!” [/b]Those things did happen infrequently; usually when Eva’s adrenaline was pumping. This was the first time it had been with fire though… She looked to Kurt, why was he here; probably hunting or something primal. She looked back to Caleb. He was awfully inquisitive, and he didn’t seem the slightest bit unnerved about what he’d seen. His own agenda consisted more than just a walk in the park, and Eva knew it. How to describe Caleb? Hmm...strong, tall...possibly brooding. Kurt began to translate the two into someone he knew in his pack. Eva was a little cub that just got used to walking. Whereas Caleb reminded him of a seasoned warrior, one who he remembered greatly because of the two scars along his face. His eyes lowered at the thought as he clapped his feet together. That was a depressing...
When asked about why they were there Kurt simply shrugged. "Having some fun hunting vampires." He said nonchalantly. His attention went back to the girl as she repeated what he said. "Yeah. She. A human mother. She cared for me and re-named me. My real name isn't as easy to say in English." His head perked up as he looked confused at Eva apologizing to him. "Umm...no offense...How can you bump the night though? That seems kind of rude."
Once again the flame began to burst quickly Kurt had got up and jumped back behind a tombstone. His head slowly began to peak out, ". . .How can you not know how that happens?" he asked. Carefully he walked out from behind the tombstone, he then put out an index finger. Letting out a soft growl then a few barks. "Sorry...needed to get that out." Sitting down on a tombstone he sighed and let his head fall in his lap.
Why was he talking to these two? Probably because he had nothing else to do. Well besides hunt some more vampires, but after awhile it gets far too boring. He needs something else to hunt. Hopefully there will be a challenge sooner rather than later. Because if not Kurt might just go insane. More than he is now.

When Eva mentioned Starbucks, Caleb's thoughts went to Mina yet again. That had been the coffee shop he had met her at for their first date. He remembered it like it was yesterday. He got there early sitting down at a table in the corner. She was there within minutes of him sitting down. She ordered a 24 ounce French Vanilla cappucino which he decided to order as well because he never liked the flavor of coffee and he'd never tried cappucino. They sat there for 3 hours conversing. It was mainly Mina doing all the talking though with an occasional response from Caleb. As Caleb now stood in the graveyard with these two people, he could still see Mina's dark waves of hair bounce as she moved her head slightly to tell him a story. Her crisp laugh echoed in his mind. Oh how much he missed that laugh and the smile that resided afterwards. Caleb came back to focus when Eva mentioned she was there to pay respects. He wondered if she to was someone that left things on the gravestones as if the people who died could really see them or even appreciate the gesture.
Caleb glanced at the candles she motioned to. "That is very nice," he lied. "You study the magiks, then?" He chuckled. "That explains your little burst of energy. I've never met a witch before, studied them, but never met one."
Caleb watched Kurt as he spoke about hunting vampires. Okay this was good. The boy seemed to enjoy hunting vampires. Perhaps he wasn't all that bad then. Cale would beat him for even thinking that way. But Cale wasn't there now was he? But killing vampires, fun? Caleb just shook his head at Kurt's comment. If anything it was a challenge for Caleb every time. He had killed many vampires in the past, some newborns and others extremely old, each having their own strategy for fighting back. Challenges could be fun, but not when you could die. Perhaps this creature didn't have to worry about that at all. It would make sense. After all, the boy did rip the head off of a vampire just minutes ago which seemed to be just a walk in the park.
