Caleb hated cemeteries. Ever since Mina's funeral, he couldn't walk into one without feeling a wash of sadness come over him. It was to be expected, but Caleb was becoming rather annoyed at this concept. It was almost like he couldn't help it. It was almost as if Mina was always following him wherever he went and when he entered a cemetery, she would yell "Hey! Did you forget about me? I'm still here ya know!" by thrusting her emotions back into him once again. Alright annoying wasn't the word...but just disturbing maybe? His destiny was here now. A slayer was called and a his assistance was much needed. He couldn't be thinking of Mina anymore, not to this extent anyways. He had spent a year and a half in depression mode, and he just wanted it to stop. He had to make it stop. How could he work with his emotions in the way. Emotions were just knats, to small for anyone to see upfront, but big enough to annoy the crap out of you.
The thought of his destiny made his mind switch gears into another direction. Faith. Their first encounter definitely didn't go the way he had hoped. She was stubborn, unstable, and unwilling to embrace her destiny or any help from him. She was the definition of rogue. He was still trying to figure out how he was going to get through to her. He had given her his address, but he knew even before he handed her the chicken scratched napkin that she wouldn't use it at all. So it was up to him to use his not so good people skills to get closer to her. They didn't have to be friends, but close enough for him to get his job done.
As he passed from one tombstone to another, he would see a floral arrangement here, signs of some sort there, a few objects that made no sense at all sitting at the base of some of the tombstones. He couldn't understand the reasoning of people at all. Why bring things for the dead? They were already dead? There was no point in bogging their graves with useless objects that they could never touch or see. Even for Mina he never brought flowers.
With flowers in his mind, another thing crept its way in. It was the feeling of hunger and craving. A newborn vampire. He could always tell the difference between the feelings of a vampire and the feelings of a human. Vampires feelings for some reason felt much stronger than humans which was very strange because the vampire was dead vs the human who was very much alive. However, he couldn't feel any other emotions so he assumed he was alone with the vampire in this cemetery. Because of this, he felt no rush in attending to the vampire right away. Though he did want to get out of the Sunnydale Cemetery and head home. Hopefully the movers spent the day dropping off his furniture. A bed sounded so appealing to him right now.

The hunt was on...again. The fresh newborn vampire had popped out the grave it was on the run...towards Kurt. That wasn't new or anything this vampire was going off of pure instincts of hunger. Kurt would usually enjoy when a being went off their instincts, but with vampires and hunger it was just a bloody mess. No pun intended.
A laugh came from Kurt as he watched the vampire sluggishly move towards his throat. To others it might have been fast, but for Kurt it was horribly untalented. Jumping off the tombstone he was resting on he watched the vampire punch through the stone. Running on top of tombstone after tombstone Kurt decided to play the prey this time. It was almost a rush for him if he didn't already knew he could kill the hunter.
Then the scent of smoke had caught his nose as he turned his head. In that moment of distraction the vampire had cut Kurt's shoulder causing him to fall and hit the ground hard. Letting out a small growl as the vampire started to descend on him. He wasn't going to let that happen, beaten by a newborn vampire.
His eyes flashed garnet as his fangs sharpened and his claws appeared. His figure became more wolf like and red tattoos spiraled along his body. The change happened quickly that Kurt could easily react to the attacker. Letting out a concentrated howl at the vampire it burst the vampire's eardrums while levitating him a few feet.
Rolling from under the vampire Kurt stood up and delivered an axe kick to the vampire's neck. It only broke but wasn't completely off Kurt had to rip it off with his hands for that to happen. Releasing a victory howl he arched his back.

Little Eva continued her prayer. She missed her parents and she missed her grandparents. Her little sister too. She however, was cremated and sitting on the mantle, constantly reminding her of her failure as a sister. Alex went out often and wouldn’t return for weeks at a time. Her texted her maybe once and week and it was clearly never a good sign. Thinking over all of these things, a tear ran down her porcelain cheek. She sniffled and stood up, choosing to leave the candles. She didn’t know how to ignite them, but if it was a magical flame, it surely wouldn’t spread and start a fire.
Turning on her heel she wiped the last of her tears and started to fickle with the lighter. It was a basic BIC lighter, about two inches long, black, nothing special. She would roll the thumbwheel enough to make it spark and let go. Her path continued when she heard a howl. ”Huh?” . she said out loud. It caught her attention immediately. Was it a wolf? Eva furrowed her brow and shook her head. No, they wouldn’t be around here. They’d be in the woods not a gated cemetery…. She continued her stride, a bit faster. The blonde was nervous, no doubt about it. This is why she wasn’t to be alone, because something would eat her—like in little red riding hood. “There is no big bad wolf. It’s nothing. Go home.” . She egged herself to go on. But then she heard what sounded like running and fighting. She was definitely not alone.
Eva walked along the wall of a mausoleum, hiding in it’s shadows. It wasn’t exactly helpful for hiding that she wore bright colors. Next time she ventured into a graveyard at night, she’d dress better. The coast seemed clear, the noises stopped and she saw nothing between her and the gate. As she darted for the entrance, someone was in her way. Someones. They were large and disfigured. They were somethings. Eva gasped for breath, trembling. Maybe if she walked away slowly, they wouldn’t notice her in their fighting.
She hid behind an oversized tombstone which was soon smashed through. It made her scream. Her heart was pounding and she couldn’t think. She was going to die. Right there. She could feel it, but this all seemed oddly comfortable. Not that she was comfortable in her situation, but that she knew how she would act next. She remembered that whatever broke the stone behind her wasn’t going for her. Eva continued to hide and sneaked peaks whenever she could. The larger figure was going for the small figure’s neck. “Vampire..” she muttered under her breath. They were as real as she was a witch, and it was right in front of her trying to hurt that man. Then the man turned into some…animal. “Oh it’s a werewolf. Oh. Oh no.” .
Eva did her best to reason with herself. Both creatures were distracted by one another. Oh it has claws! Oh gosh it’s turning red. No. This is a dream. This is a vision. Wake up. Wake up. But it was real. The blonde didn’t know what to do. She just continued to back away.

Before he could decide whether he wanted to go for the vampire or not, he heard a howl and russeling ahead. Caleb followed the sound more curious than anything else. When he reached the cause of the sound he was shocked. There wasn't just one "thing" in the cemetery. There were three! A vampire, a werewolf, and a girl. What the hell? How did he miss the emotions of the other two beings? Was he losing his game? No, it was just his mind was a wreck and he wasn't focusing enough.
Caleb leaned against a tree watching the scene take place. It was interesting no doubt. A vampire fighting a werewolf? Definitely something you don't see everyday. The girl was what worried him. She seemed to be stuck in the middle of the fight hiding behind a tombstone obviously waiting for her chance to make a run for the entrance gate. There were two things that could happen. She could run for the gate and the creatures would be to focused on fighting eachother that they miss her entirely which was sadly unlikely. Or before she even reached the gate, they would both notice her and possibly continue fighting because now they would have prey to fight for. This could become extremely dangerous for the girl. They were likely to grab at her with their claws and rip her to shreads before either of them could eat her.
Caleb just wanted to go home. He was exhausted, but he couldn't just leave the girl here. He had to do something. The vampire he wasn't to worried about. A piece of cake. But a werewolf. That was another story all together. He had faught two werewolves in his lifetime so far and although he had slain both of them, he walked away brutally wounded.

Finishing his howl Kurt began to pant, he can't believe he was foolish enough to let a vampire scratch him. Staring at his shoulder he began to lick at the wound. The taste of blood flowing through his mouth. The wound quickly started to heal, while it was doing that his body was turning back to its human form. Cracking his next he shook his head letting out a few unintellectual grunts.
He had caught the scent of the girl first as his eyes locked onto her. Kurt had earlier heard her say that he was a werewolf he felt insulted. "I'm not a werewolf." he said coldly. Turning his head away from the girl he caught another scent somewhere around the area. "Why do people hang around the cemetery...at night? I don't understand humans, they know of the dangers yet they still knowingly jump right into the source of trouble." Raising his hands in the air he walked towards the girl.
"Could you answer me that question?" he leaned on the tombstone to look at the girl. Raising his brow at the choice of colors he growled out of irritation. It actually over stimulated his eyes as he backed away, "You smell different." he said blandly while backing away. That was when he looked back up at the man near the tree, once again a low growl escaped his lips.
Slowly he got on all fours waiting to pounce at the new target. It actually had nothing to do with him being a possibly threat. No actually it was more that the guy was well...a guy. It was a territorial thing Kurt had going on. He thought of this cemetery as a personal hunting ground and great stress reliever. And pretty much his. Especially at night.
His eyes remained glued towards the tree completely ignoring the girl. It probably wasn't a smart move considering she didn't smell like a normal human would. There was something extra to her that he hasn't seen much of around Sunnydale. Kurt always seems to find new people in Sunnydale even more confusing than the last.

Caleb watched as the wolf like creature riped the vampire's head off with his bare hands. Wow, that was disturbing and didn't settle well with Caleb. As much as he hated people, the idea that this being could do that so easily to the girl behind the tombstone made him angry and a little threatened more for the girl's sake. He could feel the fear in the girl which made him want to protect her even more.
After the wolf like creature changed back into his human form, Caleb was not amused at his next action. The boy was now talking to the girl behind the tombstone. He assumed it wasn't just to make a new friend. He had seen creatures like this. Creatures that seem to enjoy playing with their food before they eat it.
If he was going to act, he should probably do it soon before the creature noticed him. As the eyes of the boy met his, Caleb realized he was too late. The boy had focused all his attention on him ignoring the young girl completely. Really? Come on, really? A stroll in the cemetery turning into a battle? Caleb was definitely not looking forward to this. But if this boy did make an advance towards him, he would have to fight if not for himself for the girl.
The only weapons he carried was a long pointed dagger in the sheath underneath his right pant leg and a stake resting in his jacket pocket. He was beating himself up about it too. His first real night out on the town and he didn't even think to bring a good weapon? Nice Caleb, real nice. Cale had even told him how dangerous this town was even before he got here. After all, it was on a hellmouth.
Caleb kept his eyes on the boy not making any sudden movements. Creatures like this were territoral. That is all this was he hoped. But the creature could become even more hostile than he already was which could be very bad.

Eva stood up slowly. Clearly this demon was still angry and the last thing she wanted it to do was take it out on her. He barked at her for her poor assumption. It wasn’t her fault, well she supposed it may have been. But there was significant werewolf evidence. He was all wolf-like and he howled and in books Vampires and Werewolves fight. “I..I..I’m sorry. I mean I didn’t try to offend you. I suppose that’s a common misconception. I’m just…err…I mean, I’m not exactly familiar with your kind. I assume that there’s some sort of canine root…”
she started rambling, something she often did in times of nervousness. The young witch started to play with the lighter again. The resource of an element calmed her and centered her. She came back to attention when he began to lecture her. ”You’re asking me why I’m here? I mean I’m not exactly having a picnic… she let her attitude slip through. It rarely ever comes out, only in nervousness and when she felt threatened. She apologized, hoping that this wouldn’t make him angrier. “I’m sorry…again. Look, I was just here to visit my family. I wasn’t looking for any trouble. I mean, when I woke up this morning, I didn’t expect to see demons fighting during my prayer… Eva paused to collect her thoughts and actually chuckled for a moment. Technically, she saw this coming. Is he really looking at my clothing? What is he checking my out? Eva moved from scared to just plain insulted. I smell different? He’s smelling me? Please go be a puppy elsewhere… she hoped in vain. The truth was, she should smell different. She was different. As the werewolf-erm-demon-dog-man-thing unnamed breed of a demon got on all fours, Eva raised a brow. He looked like he was about to attack a man near the edge of the fence. She bit her lip, deciding if she should say something. It was only a person. The demon wasn’t exactly going to kill her, so she could say something. She figured maybe she could distract him, ask him about himself… Yeah! That was it! ”Forgive me, I’m only curious, but what are you…And how can you smell me?” she added in. Eva continued her fidgeting with the lighter, but this time allowing it to hold a flame. She looked to her right. The two candles still stood peacefully lit, their flames barely flickering. "Canine root? I come from a tree?" he said. Now Kurt was confused that wasn't a good feeling for him when he was trying to keep his territory. His muscles began to tense less as he talked to the brightly colored girl. He began to slowly stand up his eyes were still on the man, but most of his attention was on the talker.
Turning his full attention now to the girl he tilted his head to the side. "Prayer? Oh...I see dead people of yours. Still...kinda stupid why don't you do it in the day or afternoon. You even know about demons and vampires. Are all humans this stupid?" he turned his back to the girl and shook his head. Kurt was never one to sugarcoat things and said exactly what was on his mind. "I don't even know why I asked that."
Turning back around to face the girl he blinked. "What am I? A fenrir demon. And probably the only one in Sunnydale." he murmured the last part as he placed his foot on a broken part of a stone. A confused expression once more took over his face. "With my nose.." Kurt began to rock the stone back and forth with his heel before growling again.
"You're makin' me nervous!" he said as he kicked the rock towards the man's area. He really was starting to hate humans, he would hunt them but they offered very little to no challenge. Kurt couldn't believe he was actually talking to two humans. They weren't going to understand him like anyone else would. In all honestly the only person he has ever connected with was May and Anyanka. One was dead and the other was a demon.
His attention once more shifted to the girl, "Why at night?!" his voice more aggravated. Going back to the earlier question of why she would visit her family at night. He knew humans did stupid things there was this thing that they called "common sense" why isn't this girl using them? It might have to do with her smell it could possibly be what drives her to do obviously stupid things.
Kurt was unsure why he cared so much about what a human does with their spare time. Maybe it was because she was a female and he saw her as a cub. Shaking his head fiercely he got that thought straight out of his mind. They were not the same species he didn't have to cuddle or care for her. Though mating choice is far low.

The boy's eys finally moved away from Caleb focusing on the girl again. He didn't expect that at all. He thought the boy was going to pounce on him for sure, but the girl seemed to distract him which was good I guess. The boy had seemed to cool down quite a lot and Caleb scratched his thought of the boy playing with his food. He seemed to actually be engaged in true conversation with this girl. Caleb still was hesitant about leaving the girl alone with him. Cale would always teach him that there were no gray areas. There was good and bad. But if that were true, the boy would have already killed the girl, right? Caleb wasn't sure. I mean the boy did kill that vampire? But Caleb didn't want to risk it. If things did get out of hand he would be there in a heartbeat. But the boy already knew of his presence which made it kind of weird. So Caleb was almost just waiting for something to go wrong.
Caleb stepped forward towards the couple. If only he could hear what they were saying. The girl's emotions had changed. She was still afraid, but the fear was lessening which made Caleb a little on edge. Humans trusted others so easily. It amazed him, really how that happened. At least she wasn't freaking out. She must have known about the supernatural already. Which was good because that saved him from a long unneeded conversation.

A fenrir demon….what on earth? she struggled for a memory jog, and it came. “From a hell dimension…aren’t you?”
she didn’t wait for his answer. ” I know…of your kind…I mean I read about them. But you’re the first one I….oh how fascinating!” Her geek seemed to slip through. Indeed she read about his kind. They hunted vampires. Not exactly evil, but not exactly good—it depended on what the specific terms were. She watched as a piece of rubble flew toward the man. He wasn’t running. Actually, he was coming closer. Come here, come here, he’s calling me dumb, please come here… she thought. His unknown presence was making the demon angry. And she was frustrated with his constant yelling at her. “umm….hello!” she tried her best to give a pleasant greeting, but under the circumstances, who was she kidding? Eva continued with the lighter. She watched the flame and focused her energy on it. As soon as the demon barked his order again at her, the flame from the lighter burst into a two foot flame, for a moment. “Don’t yell at me!” she pleaded looking at the demon. Well, he didn’t expect that…good job. The little blonde looked down and back up at him. ”because tonight is the night the anniversary that my parents died…” she started ”…and why are you asking? Just because I don’t have your hellish was of thinking doesn’t make me stupid. You can’t decide that I’m stupid. You’re the one howling and growling for absolutely no reason at all! Still angry, and with his knowledge of her having…abilities…she doubted he’d do much more but growl and yell at her. She turned her attention back to the third figure near them. Her back was to the demon and she squinted to make out his face, but it was none that she recognized. With pleading eyes, she mentally begged him to come over, and fast. She was still on edge, and the demon barking questions at her as if she was some sort of child unnerved her. Kurt's eyes cut towards Caleb's feet as he watched him walk closer. Just what he needed, truthfully he did need Caleb to come out into the open. It wasn't that he was well hidden or anything, this night was nothing compared to the nights in Glaor he could see perfectly fine. It was that the feeling of being nervous came from being watched from afar. It reminded Kurt of being hunted.
Kurt's eyes lit up as he heard the girl talk about how she knew about his kind. It was somewhat nice to know that people aren't completely ignorant to his species. Then again how are people finding out information about his species? That question made him slightly even more uneasy.
At the sight of the fire growing larger Kurt immediately backed up and let out a low growl. He was once again on all fours, but this time way closer to the ground. Hearing the girl vent Kurt stood back up, "My thinking isn't hellish! I'm all instinct I think and am one thing a hunter.....I don't get people...I'm sorry." he said his voice getting lower as he went on. As the girl turned her back on him he looked the other way.
"So confusing. Arf krrargh." He said in English before saying something else in his own native tongue. Deciding that he wasn't going anywhere Kurt took a seat on the cold ground. He has never minded getting dirty, before he came to Sunnydale he was covered in dirt. And blood. The water his pack reserved was for drinking and whenever the stumble upon a stream they would wash up.
But now apparently this world have certain places designated strictly for cleaning That was mostly because humans didn't travel as much. They seemed to stay in one place for much longer that any Fenrir demon would like to.

Caleb watched as the girl glanced at him almost pleadingly. He took that as a sign to get over there, but he wanted to wait to make sure the boy wasn't going to attack him. Once the boy sat down on the ground, Caleb made his way over to where they were at. As he neared, their feelings had both seemed to calm down. The girl was still a little on edge, but the fear was not so strong now, and the boy just seemed nervous which baffled Caleb to no extent. What was there to be nervous about? Yes this girl seemed to be some sort of witch or fire manipulator, but she was definitely no match for the boy's kind. And what was up with that fire thing she did with the lighter? Caleb definitely didn't expect that at all. She seemed so helpless from afar. He still didn't think she could take care of herself though which is why he continued walking towards them.
Caleb stopped a few feet away from the couple. He put his hands in his pockets. "Hi." He really wasn't sure what else to say. He just witnessed the boy attack a vampire and rip his head off and then this girl make the flame from her lighter grow tremendously all the while knowing that he was standing over by the tree.
Caleb had decided that the boy, however still quite a threat, didn't have the intention of hurting this girl which made him feel better, but kind of stupid as well for actually walking over there. He didn't like people to begin with, and now he just introduced himself almost asking for their attention.

The demon growled again and got on all fours like a dog. Is this really going on right now?
It was odd for any (relatively) normal person—odd to have a person growl at another? They weren’t Neanderthals here. Eva tucked a piece of her blonde free flowing hair and stuck it behind her ear. She couldn’t wrap her mind around the sudden changes that had gone on. One minute she was praying, the next she was fearing for her life, and now she was just quizzically attentive. The demon growled once again and started speaking in it’s own native language. Eva raised a brow, unable to interpret his mannerisms, however his general body language seemed to have it’s own nervous tick with his growling and such. Then the man came closer. He was good looking, in a slightly older way. Not that he was old, he maybe had two or three years on her, but he was pretty confident for his own good. She smiled a rather weak smile, her teeth hardly showing, and her eyes lying to him. “I’m umm, I’m Eva. Who are you?” she asked the man. He’d been watching from afar and only came closer. Clearly, demons were not new to him. She turned her attention back to the demon. “And for the record, what’s you’re name? Or what you prefer to go by…” she added. Surely his name would be some long drawn out name, foreign names typically were. [/blockquote][/blockquote] * * * words;; 300 thoughts;; It's so short--I'm sorry. The man stepped out and began to speak. Well not much for a conversation starter, but it was at least something to go off of . His scent was different too, human sure but something extra along with it. Kurt was confused by these two as he never truly classified each and every scent on Earth into some category. He was working with what was human, vampire, demonic, and other. And these two fell into human...other?
This was all too much for his mind to process tonight as he just let the thoughts fly out of his mind. "Hello." his voice a bit rougher than it meant to be. Clearing his throat he tried to not sound as harsh. It was just normal for him, not like English was his first language. When the girl introduced herself then turned to Kurt he raised his brow.
"Kurt." he said. He didn't feel like telling these people his true name. They wouldn't appreciate it on the same level as other people would. Plus it would be a mouthful. Also there was the fact that in their language his full name is roughly translated into English sounding words. It was better than the assortment of growls, barks, and howls of pronunciation that his pack has. Everyone seemed to have calmed down a bit as this seemed to be an odd triangle.
"Kurt Harkness, its what she named me." he continued. Eva was a sounded like a simple name. Too simple of a name for a girl with such an ability. But Kurt wasn't going to let the name fool him. Already she has surprised him once, next time he'll be prepared.
Tonight was definitely a different take on things as Kurt once visited the cemetery and found a vengeance demon. They talked about the foolishness that vampires and humans shared and other little things about their past. But now this didn't seem to have the same friendly air as the other conversation did.
